Every class begins with a heartwarming Chinese story, carefully chosen to set the mood and spark big ideas. From there, kids dive into a themed art activity designed to ignite curiosity, build confidence, and make creativity a deeply personal experience.

  • Light & the Sun

6/22 (Sun) 2:00 pm-4:00 pm

We'll explore light through cyanotype printing using natural items like leaves, flowers, seeds, and grass. Children will also experiment with tracing shadows, connecting creativity to observation of the sun’s movement. 

  • Fruits of Summer (from Asia!)

7/20 (Sun) 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We'll look at and taste our favorite summer fruits from Asia—watermelon, lychee, dragonfruit, and more! Kids will draw from observation, practice mindful tasting, notice texture, color, and shape, then bring their observations to life in watercolor paintings, which will be incorporated into whimsical and vibrant collages inspired by Andy Warhol and Yayoi Kusama.

  • Water & Movement

8/17 (Sun) 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We’ll collaborate to create a large-scale “river/stream/wave" painting using unconventional tools (twigs, sponges, feathers, and maybe a broom!), and then each child will take apart the collaborative painting to make their own unique textured painting, exploring movement, feelings, and freedom in mark-making. Seashells and sea stars will be provided for observational drawing and learning.

  • About Teacher：

    Priscilla is an experienced educator and guide in the field of art education. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from Tufts University and is a certified teacher in both Massachusetts and California. Over the past decade, she has taught in the U.S. public school system, guiding thousands of K–8 students to discover themselves through art, express their inner worlds, and unlock boundless creative potential.

    Priscilla believes that art is not about perfecting technique, but about returning to the self. Her teaching approach is gentle and sincere, encouraging children to slow down, listen to themselves, and bravely engage in hands-on creation. She places great emphasis on nurturing independent thinking and curiosity, and helps children build meaningful emotional connections and life experiences through the process of making art.
