Mid-July. Summer isn't over, but mom's brain has already started.
Backpacks to check, supplies to restock, kids asking "who's my teacher going to be." The summer pace is still here, but back-to-school prep has quietly begun.

Right around then, the reading challenge rewards arrived.
Yo! Baby Shop's Chinese Reading Challenge sent a digital gift card — the kids saw the email notification and their eyes lit up. The local library's English reading challenge required an in-person pickup, so we made an afternoon of it — went to get the prize, browsed the shelves, came home with a few more books.
Two challenges, two rewards. Both languages covered. Mom feels good.

Honestly, this summer wasn't perfectly planned.
There were boring afternoons. Sibling arguments. Days when everyone was tired and nobody felt like talking. Not every day was exciting, not every day was "educational."
But the books were always there. The kids quietly discovered more titles they love, and reading became more of a habit without anyone forcing it — that kind of thing is priceless.
It wasn't because we did anything impressive. It's because we kept going, a little bit every day.

This summer, we set out under the California sun. We didn't go abroad — but we made memories that are completely, entirely ours.
Make every summer count.
While they still want to be close to you — explore together, grow together.
